Happy New Year!

Hi! Guess who got a new camera for Christmas? Me! Guess who has already taken over 400 pictures? Me! Guess who gets to see my favorites? You!

(Guess who thinks she's artistic?)

So first I went through my pretty tropical flower pictures phase:

Then I hit my my attempting to take pictures of a very cute but very unphotogenic dog phase:

Then Jon showed up and I tried out my underwater housing:

Jon says RAAAAAR!

Then I hit an obnoxious phase.

Then I took a break from taking pictures to celebrate New Years.

If you've never been to Key West for New Years, first of all, you should. Secondly, that probably means you don't know about New Years here. Unless you watch CNN. Basically, on the gay end of Duvall Street, instead of dropping a ball (or a conch, like they do on the other end, or a wench, like they do down at the harbor), they drop a drag queen in a giant ruby slipper. Yeah. There "she" is.

Then, on January 4th, Miss Kiki (along with, of course, Miss Abby) had a birthday. Keeks is now three years old, and she had a birthday party! That's Kiki in the front, Tessie McNeil behind her, and Cassie Lopes-Graham behind her.

Kiki was upset that she didn't get to wear her elf ears again. Look how happy they make her.

Jenny gave her the elf ears for Christmas. We left them at home. Down here in Key West, Kiki becomes the sand ninja. It's like a Where's Waldo, can you find a little white(ish) dog?

That's about all we've been up to. Jon's trying to teach me to play tennis. One day we drove up the Keys as far as Islamorada, just because it's pretty. (I took this picture while we were in motion. How cool is my camera? 10.1 megapixels, that's how cool.)

So what have I taken nearly 450 pictures of? Sunsets and palm trees, mostly.

Look! It's a sunset and a palm tree!

Well, I hope everyone had a great festive season and a very happy New Years. If anyone wants to see hundreds of pictures of a Key West sunset, just let me know. And I'm sure there will be many more to come, I've got another week or so down here, with not much else to do. And you know what? I'm okay with that.

Happy New Year!
