...and then the plague hit the intern house.

so somehow, between overnight trackings last week, leading straight into a big weekend, leading straight into overnight seal surveys, we all became deathly ill. i think i actually got both illnesses that are going around, lucky me! first i got stef's sore throat/stuffy nose, then i got christine's chills/fever. then i got my own very special headache and vomiting! so far four of us have had the chills/fever thing, but each in our own slightly different way.

so obviously this has slowed me down a bit. i even considered going out chumming this morning, just because i'm so bored of laying in my bed. i might make it out for seal survey tonight, although stef thinks i should just rest up through the weekend, which is probably a good idea, since this coming week is my last week here, and the fund raiser is next friday (which is coming together despite my worthlessness this week).

slight change of plans (which is why this week is my last week)... i'm going to visit cape town and some wineries on my way home. i'll still get home on october 2nd, but i'll leave here on monday, go wine tasting and spend monday night in stellenbosch, then drive to cape town and spend tuesday night there, then fly out of cape town on wednesday. i was flying from george to jo'burg anyway, so i just changed my flight from cape town to jo'burg instead. so i'm excited! i've heard great things about cape town, and since i'm only like four hours away, i figured i should see it while i'm here. some of the old interns had a great time in stellenbosch, so that should be fun, too. the directors are cool about letting us leave early, and i'm glad i get to do some traveling!

so that's it for now, the good thing is i've been able to do lots of work on my paper, which is important and has kind of fallen into the background with the fund raiser and such. hope you're all doing well, i can't believe i'll be home in less than two weeks!
